Lynley Dodd

Dame Lynley Stuart Dodd (born 5 July 1941〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Interviews with NZ Children's Authors: Lynley Dodd )〕) is a prominent author of children’s books from New Zealand.
She is best known for her "Hairy Maclary" series, and its follow-ups,〔("Dodd, Lynley" ), New Zealand Book Council〕 all of which feature animals with rhyming names, and was created a Dame of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2001 for ''"services to children's literature and book illustration"''
She was born in Rotorua. She graduated from the Elam School of Art in Auckland. Her first book was ''My Cat Likes To Hide In Boxes'' which she wrote along with Eve Sutton. Her first book written solo was ''The Nickle Nackle Tree''. She is living in Tauranga.
==Awards==
In 1999, Dodd became the ninth recipient of the Margaret Mahy Award.
